An important message from the team
Dear visitor of this website,
For over 6 years, Simparool has played an active part in the Dutch Sims community. We once started as an online Sims newspaper containing simple and funny little stories, with pictures taken in Sims 1 and later Sims 2. Throughout the years, we’ve grown with additional websites like SP Zone and later we’ve changed the site to what it is today. Our goal was and has always been to entertain fans of the Sims, to inform about new things and to bring people together with the help of, for example, our forums.
We’ve always felt inspired by the Sims and the complete community that has formed around it, and we tried to contribute to it as much as we could. We also tried to stay as “fresh” as possible, by staying up-to-date with the latest news, and not to fear any change.
However, we came to a point in time where we started to reflect on our ways of doing things and the way we should go on with our site. We came to the conclusion that Simparool has had its best time. We’ve had some great moments, but now it’s time for new generations of websites to step up and grow in the Dutch Sims community. Hopefully they will be at least as successful as we were.
So we’re announcing today that Simparool will close its doors. From July 1st onwards, we won’t update the site anymore with the latest Sims news. We will however keep the site and (in particular) the forums online. The latter one will still be updated and moderated, as we don’t want to leave our valued community behind.
But all isn’t over just yet. Many of our current teammembers are currently working on a new project outside of Simparool. Details on what this is going to be will be announced right here on July 1st.
We want to thank all our visitors, forum members, team members, ex-team members and of course everyone at Electronic Arts, for all the great moments and the support we’ve gotten in the last 6 years. This is goodbye for now, but we hope to see you back real soon.
